there isn't an easier way, sorry - I know it looks difficult at first, but once you've got the idea its simple to do.

you cannot open the image in xara3D

you need to make a shape

I'll see what I can do to explain it better

using a pen tool or tracer you would draw round the image to produce a vector shape like the picture attached - note this is only a screen shot, you cannot use this as it is not a vector.

when you have made this shape in xara xtreme - you can cut and paste this into xara3D

then you import your original image as a texture on the surface of this shape

    do you have the programs?

Question Re: Drifter or anyone else? Help (LOGO)

I have xara extreme pro and xara 3d.6 I also have Adobe Photoshop CS3, I sort of undersand now, but how many layers/"vectors" do I have to make for this shape? Also how can I get the texture to come out exactly right. Also what do you mean by cut and paste? Could you show me some screenshots please? Thanks in advance mate you have benn a real help!

using drifters example - you only need one shape

import your image into xara xtreme and trace round it to get this

the link I gave before here:
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G8XgHkZo1J8
shows the way most people probably do this

there are automatic tracing methods too if the image you are using is very complicated.

once you have traced round the image in xara xtreme so that the outline ends up where it started the line will close into a filled shape - this is what you need.

copy this to the clipboard [control+c] - then open xara3D and paste the shape in [control+v]

if you prefer you can save the image as a .xar file [or a .wmf] which xara 3D can open - if you do this you must only have the shape in the file and not the image that you traced

should end up with something like second screen shot
