Could anyone give me some idea on how to great this logo as a vector using Xara Xtreme. I've been using it for about a year but am far from being an expert. Any advice would be appreciated.

I invite you to spend a little time viewing the extensive listings of Xara Turorials going back as far as 1996. You will find many articles which will help you understand how to work with tools for *Shapes *Fills *Transparency *Feathering *Cloning etc... All basic tools available within XaraXtreme and could be used to create your own version of the Yin and yang.
You might like to look at this thread http://www.talkgraphics.com/showthre...highlight=yang
Also try searching for "yang" in the forum search. You will find numerous threads that will help.

Here's a sketchy tutorial. It helps if you are familiar with the basics.
In the last step I added two small circles the same size as the circular holes.
Alternately, you could apply a Contour in the last step which will give you an effect closer to the logo you posted.
