    Default sharing editable files

If I'm trying to work with someone who uses photoshop & illustrator, what is the best way for me to be able to share files between us??
I sent him an item which I saved as .ai as well as exported as .ai
I have not tried to send him the eps copies yet...
He told me that photoshop did not recognise either .ai files?? they were recognized as .ai, but would not open as such in photoshop.

Paul what version of Photoshop does your friend use? The import filters may not support older .ai files.

If memory servers me the .ai export from Xara is like version 7 or 8 of Illustrator.

    Have you tried PDF?

    EDIT: Just tested with CS3

The Xara exported AI opens fine in Illustrator, but is blank in PS
The Xara exported (HQ 300dpi) PDF opens fine in Illustrator as vector, in PS as raster.

    Thanks guys.
So, maybe he will need to open in illustrator, then he can export it from there to be able to use in Photoshop?? Hopefully he has both
