ScriptI0:data map offset out of range

I'm fairly new to Painter, using version 9.5. I mostly use it for drawing. In the last couple of days I've started to get the message "ScriptIL: Data map offset out of range every couple of minutes while I'm owrking. I click ok and the same message comes up again. I click a second time and the stroke I was in the process of laying down completes...then there's a sudden smeared line off to the right. I hit undo and resume working, but I'm sure you can see how tiresome this is, all day long. I have no idea what a data map offset is or how it got out of range. I've made no changes to my settings. I ran DiskWarrior but it had no effect.
