I have used almost every type of inkjet and several others over the years. I do like the way the xerox does photos tho... Much better product, but still as fragile as an inkjet.

I guess the quality for a photo is higher with most inkjets but for a lot of stuff a laser is better and certainly less hassle.
I don't believe that you can run photo paper through a laser printer.

Thank you for that information Steve, I wasn't aware that laser quality photo paper was available. Must try and hunt some down.

It does lead to some very long troubleshooting when someone slips an inkjet photo paper into the company colour laser printer... and does not want to confess

However after the first time it is obvious from the mess on the fuser unit.

I have used a Stratitec Premium Series Inkjet Refill Kit for the last couple
of years and saved many hundreds of dollars. I probably have 5 more years of use out of this kit. I don't worry about printing and print away all the time This has been one of the best investments I've ever made.

Smear and streak or just lock up like chewing gum?

    Hi Robbie,

It streaks and smears and blotches.

The xerox model we have at work uses a solid wax type ink, and prints beautiful photopaper prints. The color matching is excellent. I would suggest you take a good shot down to your local xerox dealer and have them run a test for you on photopaper. Xerox has replaced the model we have with a newer one... here is the specs on it...Xerox model 8560

As soon as I can somehow justify it I am going to buy one for my computer.
