Post HTML scripting for Linux server...any advice?

Hi everyone. I've been asked to create a Web site that will be hosted on a Linux server. Something new for me. I would appreciate any advice regarding tags, etc., that might be necessary for linux. I hand code 3.2, upload via FTP ... will these work on linux? Appreciate any tips. Thanks much. (back to Xara Xtreme for me)

    Hi Helen,

HTML and the FTP protocol were developed on UNIX servers. Linux is a UNIX like operating system that runs on microcomputers (i.e. desktop computers).

Your HTML and FTP transfer will work on Linux as well as UNIX and Microsoft web servers.

If you are using any Frontpage extensions on a Microsoft IIS web server, those will not work on a Linux server.

As long as we really only talk about HTML, Javascript, Images ..., the host does not really matter as it only does that: host the files. In case of plain HTML, it is the client only that has to be taken care of.

I have never had any problem with linux servers. More secure than Microsoft, and easy enough to learn.

Default HTML scripting for Linux server...any advice?

    Thanks, everyone!
Of course, since I posted my question, I have been researching. Happy to say I have already uploaded a temporary home page for this client. Everything worked just fine! Appreciate your comments.
