    Unhappy Help with an image

    Hi
I have tried and tried to import export the attached logo image so that a white background cannot be seen. I am now tearing my hair out in frustration. I simply cannot figure out how to do it.

Can anyone please help explain how to do this. The logo is intended for a website I am constructing.

    Thanks and Regards

    Colin

It looks like you're not selecting a transparent colour properly. The bitmap you posted has a few grey/white areas with the white areas and when made transparent needs a bit of touch up with a bitmap editor. What is it drawn in originally? Try re-exporting as a transparent gif from the original application, but pay careful attention to the transparent colour choice. If you don't get a choice try importing to Irfanview (Free for personal use) and reselecting the transparent colour.

Export as PNG. In the colour depth option select true colour + alpha. Bitmap size to suit yourself and tick transparent in the options tab, that should just about do it.

    Hi All

Very many thanks for the help.

I have produced an image in XXP, but I attached the original gif image.

I will try what you have suggested.

    Kind Regards

    Colin

If the image was produced in XXP, then export either as transparent .gif or .png should be trouble free. If you have any further problems, post the original .xar and let us look at it.

Had a quick 5 minutes so here is your logo done in vector. What ever colour you web page background is fill that colour in a rectangle which is placed behind your logo and this will stop white fringing. Now as not all browser support png I would save the file as a "gif" with transparent background and you can get mush more info here: http://www.xaraxone.com/html/workbook.html
