Another ULead program that I use, Cool3D, will not install on Vista.

Rather than using VirtualPC, I use remote desktop and/or pcAnywhere/VNC.

Having multiple computers with different operating systems on a home network, all controlled at one keyboard and monitor can be a lot of fun

Correction: Upon further review I have found that PhotoImpact 11 does indeed work under Vista.

i am having a helluva time w/ v11 pardon my german. i've uninstalled and reinstalled. it's making me insane. i tried v12 as well. i've done the "tricking" where the compatability is changed in the properties. i've ran it as the admin. i've tried patches and updates. i'm super confused on what to do. i have vista ultimate and photoimpact v11. what can i do to get my program to work?! it tells me windows can't find a source to the problem and to close the program. it happens on the intillizing main page and components screen when you try to open it. christ, someone help me. i loooove my photo editting!!!

-Try turning off your UAC ( user account center ) in the security center.
( to learn how, click Start > Help and support > then type in "turn off uac" in the search window)
This is a major stumbling block for many programs, as well as very annoying.

    - Also be sure to restart your computer after PhotoImpact installation! ( Photoimpact won't start correctly unless you do!)

-Also, it helps to have more than 1 gigabyte of RAM.
1 gigabyte is really the bare minimum when using Vista.

    Hope this helps!

You can find a Vista support patch for PI 12 here:

    http://www.ulead.com/tech/pi/pi_ftp.htm#vista

First install PI and then the patch, and you should be good to go.
