You did a wonderful job, I love the rainbow refractions. And I really really love that it is NOT a vehicle.

I just wanted to look at it again........ (Gad, that's beautiful)!!!! What really brings it out (besides the fact that it's amazing) is the use of the soft / mellow background.... I can almost smell it...... ????? No, wait..... never mind

A wonderful job. I hope my wife does not see it....she may want some.

The shadow is very wrong. But the rest of the drawing is exquisite.
It has a bit of the feeling of the chalk drawings on canson paper that the industrial design students used to do in art school where they used the color of the paper for the main part of the object and just added highlights and shadows.
Just a magnificent drawing. All I can add is MORE please.

WOW everyones been busy and posting some fantastic stuff on the forums, its great to see new things!
I just wanted to say, the perfume bottle is not a photograph! I did make it in Xara & I do have the actual perfume bottle and yes I have worked from a photograph to produce it, because the lighting changes quickly. Not all the refraction has been included, as I didn't think it necessary. The mottled background was made with over stretched tree bark bitmap and transparent coloured square placed over the top.
Plain glass tends to pick up any colour thats placed behind it - so I could have used any other colour but it looks better when the colour is similar to the colours already used. The brown shades in this pic happen to be reflections of wooden chairs!
Some of the colours in the bottle are blends, & there are many various fades & transparencies to get the look. Lighting is coming in from the left and to make it more interesting, I added my own touch of lighting at the back to light up an otherwise dull centre, and I added lighting on the side wall as well.
(This probably cancels out the shadow).
The shadow that did not please, (it does appear in the photo), has since been removed and I have added some lines to stop the bottle 'floating'. I thought a few fabric folds would add to the picture without detracting from the bottle itself...
It's by no means perfeck but I had a lot of fun making it & I am pleased with the result.
Here's a revised 'new look'.
Cheers
Michele
I didn't mean to imply that it was a photograph Michele, only that it looked like photographic quality.
