    Default Sub-Surface Scattering Challenge

Maybe it's just wishful thinking, but it seems like we should be able to create a imitation 3d sub-surface scattering effect in a 2d drawing.
I've tried to break down the image in my mind to the individual elements and reconstruct them in Xara Xtreme.
This is my first attempt, and clearly I haven't gotten it right, but I'm sure if we put our heads together we could come up with something interesting!
    Anyone???

Seems to depend, at least in part, in the use of a graduated blur.

    Hi

I think a bit of xara bump mapping may help?

Here on that reliable model venus - xar file included - no more time to investigate further at present
