    Default Dead Tree...

This dead tree used to stand at the back corner of our property. It has since blown down in a windstorm. I used to like seeing it silhouetted against the sky and took a number of pictures of it in different weather conditions. This one features an early morning mist.

I hope you like it. Just like driftwood always tells a story, that old tree told me things.

Wwwwhhhhhhoooooooaaaaaaaa!!!!!! (looking up) That's WICKED nice! It almost looks animated!!!! Now that is a very beautiful photo!!!!!!

One little note on the whole "the tree tells me things" thing though...... they do have medication for that......

Also... what ever that tree did tell you, it's all lies!!!!! Why... I've never seen that tree before in my life....!! There a millions of men, 5'-10" tall with black hair and a goatee...... It wasn't me I tell ya!!!!! I'm innocent

Now That is a nice Shot! Have you framed it yet? It deserves a nice one, and to sit in your office.

Wonderful! That tree tells it's own story and we imagine what it is.

Thanks Guys. One of the things it tells me is to remember a story a native elder once told a young childrens' group I was involved with. The group was having a sleep-over in a natural history museum. The museum staff had invited the elder to come in and tell the children about traditional Indian spirituality and their world view. The talk was both intertaining and informative and the six-year olds listened attentively to the old man.

The story I remember best is his one about trees. He told the kids that trees watch us and protect us. He advised that if they are ever lost in the woods to find a big tree and sit next to it. That they neededn't be frightened because the tree will protect them until someone finds them.

Seemed like good advice to me.

Here's another pic taken that same misty morning here in Mermaid, Prince Edward Island, Canada. Both pics are in my back yard. In this one you can see that the neighbours house in that direction is quite far away. One of the good things about living in a semi-rural area is having space & privacy.

Getting off-topic for just one moment.... How's the eco- recovery going out there??? Just curious to hear it from a resident's point of view rather than the media (if you dont mind me asking)

I would say, he is thinking about the current discussion about the "Global-Warming Deniers" in the USA (see also "‘Greenwashing’ Oil" and "Global-Warming Deniers: A Well-Funded Machine / The Truth About Denial").

Perhaps geminiguy is referring to the long P.E.I. tradition of clubbing mermaids every spring?

Tree looks great - lots of character there.
