That's not even the exciting part of this comment thread.

Read this link on the list:

    Let me quote:

"But our guys are now focussed on new commercial versions. We've toyed
with the idea, and remain open that we might create a commercial version
for Linux as well, as that could be one way out of the current
situation. The Mac version is being developed as a commercial product."

Mac version being developed. This is the first I've heard of this. Heck yes!

The commit log is the same as for the 1779 change except with yesterday's date...
This signature would be seven words long if it was six words shorter.

So maybe to late to bad... With pixelmator just few weeks a head to get out (beta for not), I think the port need to be more than a cheap window port.

Pixelmator start as a bitmap but vector integration is not out of path.

Base on imagemagic, with and this is maybe were xara have to think about, the use of all mac core technologies. Also, cacoa from the base up... so integration with all mac feature is there. (http://www.pixelmator.com/). Xara will have to get it right in mac look and feel... Also, sk1 have all the basic to be port on mac...

    Wait and see

On every program.. there is a time frame to get out. Xara with is strategy to try opensource before releasing a full mac version may have lost a good opportunity.

Now and other photoshop contender just annonce. Taking full 10,5 engine (no 10,4 port), it will give mac buyer an other choice to look at when it will be release. No more info for now because 10,5 is a month at least away.

So guys on XARA... you have around a month to get out xara mac with full mac integration to be a choice for mac buyer. Beleive me. If it's just a port of a plain window version, it would be hard to get mac buyers looking at.
