    Default Austin

I thought this would be quite simple to draw but it has taken me about 1 1/2 days to do it.

    ANOTHER beauty, Norman.
I know what you mean about the time involved. I've often looked at a car and thought to myself, "This shouldn't take too long, looks pretty simple and direct", only to find that it was one of the most difficult and time consuming. I guess the little nuances of some body designs and detail can fool us.

What a wonderful job Norman ! But how could you think that a drawing like that takes a little time ?? But, yes, it was worth it ! As usually the metal work is stunning..

Thank you Marcia Steve and Ron. Ron it was the making the individual spokes that took a while and I found a new way of doing the chrome effect using a self made fill.

Now I know that I am too young, but a black one of these was my first car. My first job on this earth was as a paper boy but the first proper job was as a Austin apprentice which might sound pretty poor but to me it was so,so important. This meant I was employed by a huge company and after I qualified I went around garages telling them how to repair cars. I did this in the Austin 7 sports tourer and had a lot of pleasure in finding out how long this car took to stop at traffic lights. Because it had rod brakes and did not use hydraulics's it always took double the length to stop but what an easy car to drive with no mechanical problems. By the way Norman nice drawing of a great memory, thank you for that.

My first car was an Austin 16, a big old beast, all black, just like a mobsters car.
