From a question in the Photoshop forum, creating water streaks is also possible in PI, just have to modify the method a bit.

Also, doing crosshatch effect with the path tool. Object on path is also useful, as is shift D to duplicate and arrow key to nudge the objects into place.

Having worked in art departments, you don't just work on your own work, you work on everyone else's too. Some people are great at sketching, others backgrounds, then the painters and final effects artists. Artists have been working as teams for eons, since before the pyramids. And just because we have computers these days, doesn't mean we always see the whole vision, some people only see what can be done after the fact. It was Grafixman's orginal idea. I find myself in a rut at times and read to create inspiration and the desire to create. Life seems pretty one dimensional when I am not drawing or painting or even wood carving. Though I have rather stopped doing that (arthritis--even with a Dremel!!!).
Every day's a new day, "draw" on what you've learned.

I don't have any original ideas. What I do is often a result of something someone said or posted. The idea just grows into my head and I do my variation http://www.talkgraphics.com/images/smilies/smile.gif . So maybe it's all just innovation, but we do inspire one another here...

    Good observations Sally http://www.talkgraphics.com/images/smilies/smile.gif

Sorry to hear about the arthritis... hmmm, maybe box modeling would help fill in the sculpting void

    Gm, it's all good http://www.talkgraphics.com/images/smilies/smile.gif
