Too much curry, I think.
I was always looking for a way to remove all the blue from the background and leave just the coluds. I converted an image to grayscale and inverted it. Then adjusted the levels to get the background more white. More white with bitmap transparency means more transparent.
Now you can recolor light and dark to change the grayscale to color, and have a transparent background. You can make a bitmap copy, and use a texture for bitmap transparency.
