Does anyone know of any online classes or classes in the S.F. Bay Area for Painter 6? I am having a miserable time and need some help. Thanks. John Schmitt

Hello and Welcome John.
I hope BR and Jinny have been able to help you. I am looking forward to seeing some of your work posted to the forum.
Regards,
Greg
hi again Greg,
Unless John writes to me, I won't be able to help him.. Maybe he found what he wanted already.. or just hasn't had time to read messages yet.
I just left you a message on another thread asking if you'd ever used the Smeary Bristle Brush and changed the Tilt and Bearing in Brush Controls, Mouse section. I'm having fun playing and experimenting and wonder if anyone else has done this too.. with this particular brush and the Mouse section sliders.

i just came back from a coffee with a friend of mine. he just got P6 and wants me to help him out. not an easy task! i barely have it figured out. but one thing i can say is that you don't have to know every bit of the program in order to execute an image. basically painter is a digital art store, you don't have to purchase one of every art material in the place just to do a pen and ink rendering. this is applicable to the software also. don't be overwhelmd by the multitude of variants and dials, most of them may not even be relevent to your art. just stick to the things that are most understandable to you and work from there.
have fun, painter isn't as tough as you think

Hi John,
stecyk66 is right, just get in there and start pushing stuff around. I bet you will learn it as you need it.
If you get stumped give a shout, some body will be able to help.
Hang in and have fun.
