pdf is newer than 1.3

Hi, when I export from xara and open in acrobat 7, after i do preflight and check for digital prepress, I get the following:

pdf is newer than 1.3

Is it okay still to send this to the printers?

Hi, nice to see you around. I think it is the reader that reads it, I don't think it has anything to do with the output.

Thought you wanted it printed
Maybe put a pdf reader alongside with it(ex.visagesoft.com)
give the viewer the oppertunity to download it when they are not sure if they have the right reader installed(like you do with a flash site)

Just bought cable for dual monitor,makes working easyer(thanks for the poll that made me use it)
Also bought a lightscribe burner for flash promo dvd/cd

If you select PDF/X option then it will produce PDF that is version 1.3 only (as required by PDF/X) and that should pass any pre-flight checks.

Some printers will accept any PDF, but some will require PDF/X (i.e. PDF version 1.3) only.
