I'm not a 3D freak but I am interested in learning...... slowly......... when I have a free year or so!!

I have downloaded, installed and uninstalled Blender since it's early 1.X's and I just downloaded and installed the newest version. BOY has it come a long way!! FREE! and it renderes like a pro app!!

Check out this thread, all the way down and take a look at the Millenium Falcon model that MadCow did. Oh my GODDESS, that's gorgeous!!

The entire thread is actually really fun. Seeing all that you can do with this new feature. I'm not saying paying $1000.00 for a 3D program is bunk but if you can get it for free then why complain??

You can download Blender 2.33a from here:

    http://www.blender3d.org/cms/Blender.31.0.html

Download the Yafray render engine here:

    http://www.blender3d.org/cms/Yafray.51.0.html

    Blender resources here:

    Glad you like Blender.
2.34 is at the stage of B-Con 3 (details of B-Con : release cycle); B-Con 4 is about to happen the B-Con 5 the release...

Lots of improved features (you can read them at :2.34 features)

With the improved UI, the learning curve has flatten a lot. To help you, there is the Blender 2.3 Guide on sale at the e-shop (also on sale at Amazon) or the Guide online.

Am I "sold" to Blender ? Yes BUT I also use Swift3D and Wings.

    Blender is the "best"

Well... I would suggest that "the best" is rather a biased, and very subjective description, of most any app eh

but... so long as people are happy pushing those poly's around then what else matters
