    Default PDF Import/Export

    I downloaded this PDF:

    http://www.unison.org.uk/acrobat/B1016.pdf

to fill in for my wife.

Imports in without any problems. Made a new layer and added the appropriate text, saved the XAR and then went to export it as a PDF at which point the world stopped and XXP locked up.

I know it's a pretty lame use for XXP but it's actually very useful for filling in this sort of thing.

Is it me (my machine) or does it happen for everyone? Any help appreciated.

    Hi Woody

seems to be something in there xara dosnt like - think its to do with clip-view interpretations but thats a guess - I got the error shown below

if this is simply to fill out and print - if you make a high resolution bitmap copy of the form on a separate layer, and delete the imported layers, should be ok?

    sorry if thats obvious

Downloaded easily with newer version of Xpro? Saved as Xara file for you, hope you can open it.

    Hi Albacore

Still can't get it to export as pdf - but I'm using default pdf/x settings - is that right?

Thanks folks, eventually I printed out the XAR but I have had limited success with PDF Import/Export... sometimes it just doesn't do what it says on the box but this may be the fault of other applications generated PDF's.

Generating work in XXP and exporting as PDF works very well.

Holy crap, this caused some serious errors on my computer. When exporting the imported PDF, my computer froze solid, and I had to forcefully restart with the power button! I wouldn't recommend trying this one unless you've saved everything.
