This is the car Phil Hill drove to win at the 1966 Monterey Grand Prix Can-Am. It was so far ahead of its time that almost forty years later it is still the prototype for the modern endurance racer.

Wonderful as always, I don't see these on your web site. Are you doing a series of Can-Am cars? Remember the King Cobra and the Lotus 40, they were actually prior to Can-Am more USRRC but looked great. How about the Cheetah, ill handling, never won a race, but nothing else looked like it. During the great era of racing I practically lived at Riverside Raceway. What grat memories, anyway, your work is so great I just can't wait for the next one.
thanks for posting all of your images, tim

    Hi, Tim,

I remember the very pretty Lotus 40 described by Ritchie Ginther as "a Lotus 30 with 10 more mistakes".

Yes, I am developing a series of Can-Am illustrations that will eventually be available through the online store at www.racelegends.com.

I envy your memories of Riverside, although we had Mosport and Harewood Acres in the back yard here. Wonderful, wasn't it?

More on the Chaparral 2A as it happens...

    Best regards,

    Kane

They are coming along very nicely, Kane.

You have an amazing eye for detail, and they way you are able to bring them to life in Xara X is just astonishing.

Really looking forward to seeing more... when it happens!

I wish Xara Ltd. would promote Xara X. Their gallery is in serious need of updating. Unfortunately everyone from xara.com doesn't make it over to the xaraxone.com...
