Looking good - a bit dark maybe (maybe my monitor).

There was a second part to my warning I maybe should have added.

The cost! I, like you, downloaded tons of free stuff then thought I just need one more item to make up a scene, so I bought something, then another then another - before you know it you have 100 things that ONLY (!!!) cost $1.99

But it's all good stuff and fun to play with.

    Thanks Turan.

It is a bit too dark on the CRT monitor here at work, but there are gamma issues on this monitor.

I did intend for it to be a little dark to imply twilight/evening. I guess I over did that part

    Golly, Bill,

you are making great headway. I have been wrestling with a number of apps to get to look (and output) that I need. Still haven't tackled either 3ds or bryce. should get to them this or next week.

I hope i learn as fast as you do.

    Thanks Geo.

Take your time to become familiar with a program's interface. Many programs use similar tools but the interface is different. Once you find how to access the tools you are already familiar with learning the rest is easier.

Blender is still a total mystery to me, but I plan to eventually go back to learning how to use the program.

    Re Hex 2.2.

There is currently no way for people who pre-ordered Hexagon 2 from Eovia (prior to Daz acquisition) to access the free upgrade from 2.1.

A Platinum Club membership is not a viable option atm as I don't have any use for most of the content available as part of the package.

    Cheers

I haven't gotten Hexagon yet, but I'm headed home from work now and plan on logging in once I get there.

At $1.99 I can afford to have another box modeler in addition to Wings3D

It appears that the servers for Daz3D.com are being slammed. All I can get is a page saying the store is down for maintenance.

I think DAZ have said that if you acquired hexagon before they acquired it you can still get the upgrade. But anyway use the contact form at their site and talk to their sales staff about it. It might take a bit of time to get an reply as its its normally about 3 days and the weekend is coming up

The Daz servers were not tied up for too long. Finally got the download of Hexagon which is 313MB. A highspeed connection is highly recommended

The documentation and tutorial require Adobe Acrobat Reader 7.0 or newer and Quicktime player. I did not have Quicktime installed on my Vista machine and trying to open the Documentation from the Help menu locked out all Hexagon Tools and Menus and hid the Start button and the taskbar. The old three fingered salute (Ctrl+Alt+Delete) brought up the dialog where I could select Task Manager. However, selecting Task Manager locked up the computer and I had to hold down the power switch until the machine shut down before I could restart and have control.
