    Default Help with brush please

I'm trying to make a brush to resemble stitching.

When I convert the shape into a brush it takes away all of my feathering and brush stroke pattern.

    Please help,

    Jen

if you make a bitmap of it, it will retain the effect, though bitmap brushes have limitations

In my signature at the bottom is a link to a brush tutorial I wrote once. A way around losing all the features that Xara's brush engine doesn't currently support is to create a brush out of bitmap copies of your drawing. But you have to set the fill properties correctly in the brush properties dialogue to ensure it is displayed correctly.

Yo thats what I did [I hope? ]
you'd need to play around with the settings to get it the way you want it, naturally, assuming its what you want.

    I got the same result.
However, if your stitches are small enough perhaps it doesn't matter.
    The effect is still there.
Otherwise I would just duplicate a bunch of the original stitch and place them individually.

    Thanks for the help.

The tutorial on bitmap brushes was just what I needed.

    Thanks,

    Jen
