    Default Comparison of drawings

The blue Cobra is a car I drew about two years ago. The red is one I just finished. Do you see any difference in the quality of the renderings.
    Keep practicing...

    Hi Ron,
Just looking at the cars, the blue one does it for me. The view that you have drawn the car from, low angle, gives the car a more aggressive look, the wide fat tyres, the mesh on the air scoop and that traditional blue colour that all the early AC Cobra's in the UK. But the last drawing is all quality even the background is in a different league gone are those iffy clouds. Really liked your Cop Car of last week as well you have "hit a purple patch" with your drawings at the moment well done Ron.

It is nice to see you back again John visiting the forums but I am missing your good humour at the moment.

    Hi Ron,
I really enjoy seeing artis "then and now" I like both, but I think that the second one shows your continued improvement. The chrome is a vast improvement and the attention to detail is better and better. Keep posting, everyone looks forward to your work!!

    Hi Ron,

what can I say, apart from superb?

the second is far more fine detailed and finished, but the first seems somehow to be more 'alive' to me.

    both excellent.

    Ron,

no question in my mind. Though I agree with albacore that the composition of the first is more expressive of the agressive, low slung, predator aspect that Cobra lovers love, the second is execute much better. The whys are harder to specify.

One thing you have done which makes me want to lean over your shoulder as you work is to adjust the edging so that the feathering is not noticeable but still somehow working. the lines are much crisper, sharper so that the effects are not as softened, though the two do compete there (compare the reflection on the left fender on each car. the blue is better there. note where the fender joins the hood, in particular).

the tiny details on the red are better executed, best exampled in the tire treads.

Though, to be honest, it is all academic. Rather like an ambidextrous fella wondering which of his hands washes the other better.

They are both very nice, I think the red car looks much better on the reflections , highlights, and the chrome work. Plus Red is my favorite color. So I will go with the Red car.
    Great work Ron.

    Ok,
I lowered the chasis for a more aggressive look, (changing the angle would require a whole new drawing), changed the body to cobalt blue, the stripes to white and adjusted the front left fender shading so that it blends better into the body.

Did I miss anything? I don't expect to reach perfection, but is this reasonably close?
