Default trying to adapt illustrator instructions for coreldraw

    Hi --

I found these instructions for creating a curl in illustrator. I've gotten through a good bit of it in CorelDraw (12), but even still I can't get it to look as even and balanced as the one in these instructions. Obviously, I can creat a swirl, with the swirl tool. But creating a nice curl like that seems to be elluding me...

Any suggestions on adapting this to CorelDraw 12?

    Thanks!

I would just draw my spiral, duplicate it, set the center of object rotation as the beginning point of the spiral, rotate slightly. At the end of the spiral, just draw a line across both lines, you can use the interactive paint bucket to fill the shape even though it is not closed. You can also stroke the spiral with the Artistic Media Tool, easier still. Or if you are in for a greater adventure, you can line up your nodes and combine your lines, selecting both end nodes, join the node, you have to do this three places. Then you can fill the shape.

There are always more ways to do it, I'm sure someone will think of another way. You could also do it wil a blend, once rotated, if you have enough steps, it will appear solid.

i just discovered a super easy way to make curls. AND they turn out lovely.

I made a circle with the ellipse tool. Then I used the distortion tool/ twister distortion, and when I played with it, it made a perfect curl! And I could fill it and shape it easily.

I tried and yes I got some lovely curls. Very nice! The center of the curl can be controlled much better than with the spiral tool. Good job kar-po!
