to those that may have had difficulty opening the attachments, hopefully i have it straight now. i seemed to be having a formating problem. uploading from the mac platform appears to create some problems in translation and images cannot display properly in the forum. also i was formating in photo-paint 8, creating the jpeg in it, which was producing unreadable files so i switched over to photoshop, made the jpegs there and to play it safe uploaded from w98. yow! you gotta be an IT engineer just to use the internet

Well I'll be danged! It worked after all my previous tries didn't.

Since the image is here now, I'll post the explanation you'd find on the web page I mentioned in my last message. I'll post some things I did later with this image, in Bryce, just for the fun of it.

Here goes:
___________________________

"This painting is the result of a few minutes play one evening in early April with some of the new brushes in Painter 6. I began by working down the list of Impasto brushes one at a time, picking various colors at random and making equally random brush strokes. The suggestion of a face appeared on the left side of the canvas and I added details to create facial features. Somehow the nose ring seemed fitting for such a wild look.

Later, I shared the painting on an e-mail list, referring to it as a self-portrait that might demonstrate my state of mind after a major plumbing job at my house. The repiping was to have taken one week in early June and instead took seven weeks, until nearly the end of July. One of the list members said I looked "aghast".

(Maybe it's good to be careful what we paint, lest it become reality.)

Hi again,

It seems easier and less obtrusive to post only one image at a time so I'll just post the URLs to the next two images done in Bryce, using "Wild" as an image map.

If you're interested, there's an explanation below each image.

very clever use of the impasto jinny. you actually used it to sculpt a face. i'm going to have to try that, never thought of it till now. your descriptions of the creation are amazing. i couldn't begin to explain what i do. my creative hindsight is a complete blur, which probably explains why i tend to make the same mistakes twice! it's great to see you post an image here, adds color and creativity to this place. all we need now is some halogen lighting, jazz, eclectic furniture and an espresso bar. yeah, i can see it all now...hmm , is that a cute red-headed poet i see sitting all alone in the corner. maybe i'll walk up to her and introduce myself and charm her with my intellectual ' jimmy dean' demeanour.... Jinny,
I think your Wild image is Most Cool, it looks like you were having a lot of fun.
After a week of nothing being posted I am happy to see some new posting. I thought Eyewire pulled the plug and didn't tell us.

Regards,
Greg.
