Part of a larger piece of work I'm doing on the 1915 "Scout" biplane built by Blackburn Aircrft. The Scout was powered by the Gnome rotary. The rotary engine block and cylinders rotated at the same speed as the prop.

Real nice gray. I really liked your GeeBee R1 post also.

Thanks Dal. This is the first biplane I've done. There was very little reference material on this one, just a couple of grainy old photos to try and get details from. They only made four of them.

    Autumn.

The original image is a photo taken by a film camera, scanned as a digital image.
Then imported and bitmap traced several times in Xara Xtreme Pro. till the color looks alright.

Great work Gray. Love the colors of your picture ren2980, I like the top bit better, it's going too dark further down.

Attached you can see two small freeware applications I wrote in VB6 with the graphics created in Xara only.

Applications can be downloaded here (in case you're interested, sorry if this sounds like advertising, it's freeware anyway):

Interesting to see the bit map tracer in action Ren.

Nostaw, thanks for your comment. I like your graphics for your freeware. Standout and very clean looking.

Yes I think it looks much better.
I'm sure it would look great printed on a big canvas.

EDIT: Comparing the old one next to the new one, the new one is more pop art. The greens and browns in the old are more Autumny IMO. I think there's too much black in the old one, I made a quick mockup in photoshop of where some more details could be placed..
