    Default 1st Painter Post

Hi, been on this forum a long time but never got into Painter, though I have owned it a while. Didn't have much luck running it on a PC, lagged terribly. Recently got a MAC. Did this this morning.

Playing with impastos. Started out as photography. Separated the forground from the background with KnockOut and then blurred the background then started painting.

Thought you might enjoy my first attempts.

Lovely job as always Sally I also loved the rose you did with Art rage. Bought the program for myself all I need now is the artistry to use it.

    Thanks, Norman, kind of you.

It doesn't matter if you are great or not. Draw because you love to do it, it is sufficient reward that you can achieve new skills every day, something to be please with one's self no matter what your age is. You have so many wonderful flowers in your garden, you could draw from observation too, though it is easier with a camera.

There's a forum too for ArtRAGE and the people are friendly, I've not yet particiapted, seems like a good group, however. Fewer Englishmen, ah, sigh. Can't have everything, I guess.

    hey,

nice work sally... i love the impact the sunflower in the middle is generating because of the blurry non-defined background...its great work...

i've been using painter on and off as a hobby... and have never painted digitally before till about a year ago... it would be great if you could give me feedback on some of my stuff... thanks in advance

you can find it here...please post comments on the site if possible.

You are doing some nice stuff. Explore all you can with the tools and don't be afraid to draw on your own, this is life, you have to live it.

But, Sally you don't live in the Sunflower state of Kansas. We grow them wild here. The wife likes them and must have 15 planted in her garden. Good job painting. GT

    Hi Sally, Love picture!!

I'm an Englishman and new to Painter.... just found this Painter forum.

I know this may seem a daft question to you, but what is Knockout?

    Happy Painting
