    Question tweening in Xara Xtreme

Does anyone know if I can tween in xara xtreme?
I have watched all the video tutorials and it looks like I should be able to with xtreme pro but when I try it in xtreme and move anything from one side of the page to another all I get is flashing from the first to last frame. All I want to do is creat a smooth animation of say a ball rolling across the page or an image fading in and out. I have also tried to duplicate the tutorial with the free trial of pro: but also no luck there.

Yes you can do an excellent tween effect if you use Xara Pro and want to save as .swf.

Xara Xtreme does not have this ability though it is very easy to do a blend between the first and last objects and copy into the gif animator.

Remember, objects to be tweened, must be named. (Press the yellow tag icon and name the object. It can be an object, a group of objects, even a blend). And there are certain limitations and restrictions.

Then the tweened object must be in at least two consecutive frames. I do not believe you can skip a frame with a tweened object.

By the way, Welcome to the Xtreme Gallery Conference!

thanks, I have given all those suggestions a try and have had some limited success on a frame by frame basis. It just doesn't work like I think it should however. Guess I must still be doing something wrong.

I moved your thread from the Xara Gallery to the main Xara Xtreme forum as it is more appropriate here.

Wizard509 are you creating a Flash animation or an animated gif? Tweening only works in a Flash animation and there are restrictions that apply. Refer to the Help menu in Xara Xtreme Pro for a list of things that cannot be done in a Flash animation.

Try this: Name the object, then copy the frame and move the object to another spot, preview the annimation. You should see the tweening between steps. Then you can also change the annimation properties.

I hope someone is still watching this thread. ;-)

I would like to duplicate a fairly straightforward Flash animation consisting entirely of text effects. Shouldn't be too difficult to achieve with animated gif (I need to provide an alternate banner for a site to use within <noscript> tags.)

How do you obtain the individual blend stages to copy into the frames of an animated gif? When I create a blend it seems to be an entity and I can't access the segments. Is there a modifier key of some kind or something that I am missing?

Hi Paladin, it would help a great deal if you could explain the text animation you're trying to achieve in a bit more detail.
