Default HELP: Images going over 240% ink saturation

Hello, i have a problem with my images. I use PSP8 to create Ads(jpeg images) to be inserted in a PDF file for printing. My Printer emailed me telling that "ink saturation too high, stay under 240%". I asked him about this and he sent me their Photoshop setup. the problem is im using PaintShop Pro8 so i dont know how to match his settings with PSP8. I just want to know if the images i create will not go over this 240% limit. thnx for any help and have a nice day.

Here is something I am told you could try - but no guarantee it will work - and is based on psp9 not 8

    - go to file menu/preferences/cmyk conversion preferences
    - click 'new' enter a profile name [anything you like thats unique] and press ok
    - click modify, you should get a dialog box like the one below - set the total coverage limit to 220 and ensure that GCR is selected [not UCR]
    - click ok and ok again to close boxes

you have now set your cmyk conversion preferences

    - with your image selected go to image menu/split channel/split to cmyk
    - you will then have four cmyk separations to forward to your printer, rather than one image - you will need to make sure your printer can accept this.
You must save them from psp in tif format.

Apparently it is the only way it can be done 'properly' in psp, which does not save CMYK images, only separations; Images are saved as RGB, which are not really suitable for commercial printing.

Bear in mind that a CMYK print will not look quite the same as RGB on the screen [colors less vibrant]
