    Default New drawing has banding

How can I prevent banding or unwanted stripes when saving in Corel X3. None of my other software programs do this. I spent hours on getting the drawing completed and now I want to save as jpeg or gif. Open for your suggestions. Thanks

I'd suggest checking the save/export color depth.
if you have color gradients/blends in your drawing, then color banding is probably inevitable in gif format which is limited to 256 colors.
color banding in jpegs usually only occurs if the quality setting is too low - should be set at least 60% and may need to be higher - xara defaults to 75%.
The higher the quality setting, the larger the file size, so a compromise may necessary.

When working with gradients you can uncheck the lock and make your number much higher than 256 for fountain fills steps, I ususally choose 800. Rarely do I have a problem with banding. Do this in the fountain fill dialogue box in DRAW. You might want to set this for your document default for these drawings.

Every day's a new day, "draw" on what you've learned.
