Default Who says Mircrosoft is all Bad

Came across this lecture when "Stumbling" and thought it was a tremendous way to view digital information and with the resolution of some of the images and controlled just by a laptop and being developed by Mircrosoft. Just shows all of us they are just not out to make big bucks. http://www.clipaday.com/videos/ridic...hnology-coming

Note that Photosynth is now out in a pre-beta "technology preview".

Also very interesting is Microsoft's 'Surface' technology. I think this could be really-really popular! I know I want one -- I was surprised when my wife saw it she also thought it would be cool to have. http://www.microsoft.com/surface/

    Hi Ross,
Saw the Surface work about 3 weeks ago could be good only if it wasn't as a self changing display on a coffee table or electronic coffee table books?

I actually liked the 'coffee table' idea as it does seem well suited to sociable use. My kids tend to do web browsing (youtube etc) & online games together. Sitting around a table would probably work better for them than trying to cram two chairs in front of a computer. I think the coffee table just represents the first market for this technology. I'd expect to see a 'drafting table' version offered too as it also would make a lot of sense.

My dream would be to have an application like Artrage or Painter adapted to work with it. That would be freaking awesome!

I like the Microsoft's 'Surface' technology. But it is not ergonomic to have such a interface on a table. I mean, it's really not comfortable to sit on the floor and bend over a table.
