    Hi Prissy,
    Welcome to TalkGraphics
This is a problem that has happened to me also when I used PI8 and was never able to find a solution unfortunately.
You could try renaming a copy of the original and right click Open with PhotoImpact? No idea if that would work but it's worth a try.

Hopefully someone here can be more helpful to you.
    Good luck

Thanks Kiwi for your response.. I tried it and it didn't work.
I can't believe there is no solution for this.
I'm wondering if I uninstall PI and reinstall it if that would work..
I just don't want to do that because then I have to add on plugins & such..
    I may do it anyway..

    thanks

Perhaps you could post a zipped copy of the file here if it's not too big. Maybe somebody here could open it for you.
Here's another interesting trick I discovered. You could right click a .ufo file, select copy, launch PI and from the menu Edit/ Paste/Paste as a new image. The file opens with the layers intact. Perhaps this could work on your problem file? Not sure, but might be worth trying...

I tried copy/paste into PI... same error..
I tried attaching a zip and it wouldn't let me.. perhaps its too large.

    thanks

    How big is it Prissy?
Could that be why Photo Impact won't open it?

Find a way to upload it to here, before you think about uninstalling PI, which I don't think will solve the problem.

Or just bite the bullet and redo everything... files do get corrupted sometimes.

    16mb
I think if I tried to open that, my computer would fall over!
Better do like GM says and put it in the "TooHard" basket ... Sorry
