Printer drivers are different even from the same company from model to model, with one off my HP printers to stop it doing its auto waste my paper and ink routine, I just keep the button with the red X pressed down and it skips the waste!

My $800 15 years old laserjet died, so I had to get a new printer, I got this brandy new little HP inkjet for like $25, The ink cost more than the printer. I laughed when the cashier asked if I wanted to buy the extended warranty. It makes nice photo's as well. So rather than waste your ink, tell your friends to buy themselves one of these HP deskjet 1520 printers, then instead of swapping ink you just plug it into a USB port.
