For the Face Cards use paintings like Mona Lisa for the Queen, Blue Boy for the Jacks, King of Choice (from classic paintings)

    Thanks James

I was thinking of using a 4 cards with some casino chips on the bottom right of the cards. finally im going to try add a paintbrush positioned as if someones painting with it and some sketch or sqiggly line or half finished portrait on the card.

not 100% sure how to create the casino chips yet!

I'm just suggesting, start with writing/drawing the font of company's name. Use then the thinnest letter as a guide for the minimal detail thickness you gonna use to create the artwork. Do all the work of the fontype and symbol/icon in black/white first. When it works in black/white, it will work in color. Start coloring then. I see very often very detailed icons and symbols created around the wording, which have way too much detail especially when using it on the web or any screen application, those details get lost. This is just a really rough guide, of course, rules are there to be broken but they're good to start with.

Not very good attempt - my right eye is blurry for some reason; but I think the blend tool is the way to go making poker chips.

The best way to draw chips is to make an ellipse in Xtreme, copy it and paste into Xara3D. You can get creative with the texture. These are just done with lights and copied back to Xtreme from Xara3D; minimal effort and pretty good results.

I think this combines picture and poker quite nicely.

"Intbel" ... "Can't" is not an option.

Compliance is futile. Resistance is futile. Just do your own thing an' ignore 'em.

I used the close relationship between Xara & Xara3D to create the milled edge for the chip.

First, in Xara, I created a QuickShape star with 99 points and increased the StellationRadius to get a shape with a 'saw-tooth' edge. It didn't look as though 99 was going to be enough 'teeth' on the edge, so I duplicated it, spun it by a small amount and AddShapes'd it back to the original. I now had a circle with about 200 ripples in the edge.

I drew 2 almost identical circles within the star to give a 'raised-edge' effect, Ctrl-A to SelectAll and then JoinShapes'd everything.

Ctrl-C to copy the shape, over to X3D and Ctrl-V.

Quickly play with the extrusion, lighting and colour, then Ctrl-C, over to Xara and Ctrl-V.

And... Viola! (I wonder who she was?)
