    Absolutely correct Raymond. Water is about the best solvent in the world (given enough time ). It disolves plastic, glass, and granite as easily as it does salt or sugar although more slowly.

    I must chime in here. Years ago we used to store pepsi (or coke) products for years then chill it and drink it. It was always fine. You can't do that anymore. It not only goes flat, it's taste changes dramatically. At the same time that started happening they started putting the expiration dates on the cans. Coincidence, I don't think so...! Planned obsalescense (sp) is what I call it and it's engineered into the product.

    And potato chips, packed by weight not by volumb (sp). It doesn't make me angry that the bag is less then half full, it makes me angry that they think I won't notice....!

    And then there's the size of the ink compartment inside HP Print cartridges....!

    Other than that I'm not cynical in the least bit....!
