    'Tis fun to do.

We now have a driver. Not sure if the pack behind his head contains sandwiches to help him go or a parachute to help him stop.

A bit of preview of the background but none this time, you'll have to wait for the final installment tomorrow, the background really does help to convey motion and drama to the subject in this case.

About half of the lettering I could use fonts with, which meant I had a lot of lettering by hand with this one. But it worked out. When having to trace things, Xara is so quick.

Catch you at the finish! Or if you get their first...... all the advantages of being retired. Ha-huh, ha-huh >panting< have to run to keep up. That is not me in that helmut this time, what? Would ruin my hair!

Most Excellent Sally and Intbel? Is this a collaborative effort?

I always loved photos and graphics of automobiles and racers.

It is much better than going deaf at the track and eating rubber particles.

I bow to your professional art work and exclaim "I am not worthy!"

and continue on with drawing my stick men and angular shapes.

I draw my symbol, and it has a "C" in the middle thought it looks a bit like an "@" it is a "©".

And here's the finish, still burning out but with all the details, wow, those are going to be some hot tires, a four day burn out.

James, you asked if Raymond and I are collaborating: if you mean working on each other's drawings?? -- each are our own, there is no shared worked in that sense, in the sense that we give each other some helpful criticisms and encouragement, yes. Both drawings are authentically individually ours. When I find a good picture, I was a bit of a tease with it you see, Raymond can't resist a good car. Was looking for a worthy project but it took him away from portraits, his goal. But you share stuff with a good friend, I was excited and wanted to show him what I thought could be a great drawing. It wasn't meant as sabotage, really. So it is my fault, but not all my fault.

Sometimes one draws this stuff begrudgingly, hating it a bit while you are yet doing it, but it does feel good to be done with it, then on to the next project. As always, I look at somethings and think "I can't do that." And hear Raymond in the back of my head.... "Can't is not an option..." Yeah, right. Then I try it anyway.

Thank you, Raymond, from your diversion from portraits, but twas a pleasant diversion for me. And Happy Valentines Day one and all, and you too Raymond.

    This is actual size.
