    Default racing car

Development of the car sketch posted in the Feb Stop & Post.
Based vaguely on Hitler's Peoples Car, the Beetle, modified to produce this sleek racing machine.

Masque, I love it! I want one! Is it being shipped in the same crushed box as the Xtreme Pro CD?

    The people's racer - wonderful.
    Lucky thirteen - 'tis good.

Did you know the front of the VW Beetle was modelled on Wonderwoman's knickers?
"Intbel" ... "Can't" is not an option.

Compliance is futile. Resistance is futile. Just do your own thing an' ignore 'em.

Wonderful, Derek. A touch of realism and the look of child's toy at the same time.

BTW what is that brass looking object in front of the tyre?

Sabotage. Supposed to be a drawing pin (thumb tack). Helps show the scale of the toy car. I scattered a few more.

Superb, I particularly like the exhaust smoke and the chrome on the roll bar.

    Hi Masque,

this is your second post with comments about VW and Hitler, therefore I feel obligated to make something clear:
This car is a "New Beetle" and has nothing to do with Hitler. Hitler is dead and I hope you know, that we Germans aren't Nazis anymore. In the last 60 years these cars were built by honest and hard working humans. I know that, because my father was one of those hard working VW employees and we (he and I) are strictly against Nazis.

btw: The mass production of "VW Käfer" started 1946 under British military government, not under Hitler. The VW Beetle is known under many names in many countries, usually local renderings of the word "beetle". Among these are:
    • Käfer in Germany
    • Broscalanu' or Broscuţa (froggy) in Romania
    • Volks / Beetle in Sri Lanka
    • Sedan, then Fusca (popularly, Fusquinha, or little Fusca) in Brazil
    • Boblen (the bubble) in Denmark
    • Agroga عكروكة(froggy) in Iraq
    • Coccinelle in Belgium, France and Haiti
    • Garbus (literally, 'Hunchback') in Poland
    • Σκαθάρι (Scathari meaning beetle) or Σκαραβαίος (Scaraveos meaning Scarab) in Greece
    • Maggiolino in Italy. Also called with the affective name of Maggiolone
    • Sedán,Vocho or Pulguita (little flea) in Mexico
    • Kever in Belgium and the Netherlands
    • Kuplavolkkari (kupla meaning bubble) in Finland
    • kotseng kuba (literally, 'hunchback car') /"pagong" (turtle),"Ba-o", turtle in Cebuano dialect "Boks" in the Philippines
    • Kodok (frog) in Indonesia
    • Brouk in Czech Republic
    • Carocha in Portugal
    • Буба or Buba in Serbia
    • Escarabajo ("beetle") in Spain and Latin America
    • Peta ("turtle") in Bolivia
    • Cepillo ("Brush") in Dominican Republic
    • Volky in Puerto Rico
    • Hrošč in Slovenia
    • Cepillo in Dominican Republic
    • חיפושית ("Hipushit") in Israel
    • Косτенурка (Kostenurka) in Bulgaria (meaning turtle)
    • عقروقة (Ag-ru-ga) in Iraq
    • Bagge (short for skalbagge, beetle) or bubbla (bubble) in Sweden
    • Boble (bubble) in Norway
    • Buba in Croatia
    • Bug in the United States
    • Pőrnikas in Estonia
    • Kaplumbağa or tosbağa (meaning turtle) or "vosvos" in Turkey.
    • Bogár in Hungary.
    • Cucaracha or Cucarachita (Cockroach or little cockroach) in Guatemala.
    • Cucarachita (little cockroach) in Honduras.
    • Escarabajo in Venezuela.
    • Escarabajo or Pichirilo in Ecuador
    • Weevil in Canada
    • Foxi in Pakistan
    • Mgongo wa Chura in Swahili (Frog Back)
    • Mwendo wa Kobe in Swahili (Tortoise Speed)
    • Bhamba datya in Shona - Datya is frog in the vernacular from Zimbabwe
    • Vabalas in Lithuania
    • Bjalla in Iceland
    • Volla - Pronounced Folla in South Africa
    • خنفسة - Pronounced khon-fesa in Egypt

(source: Wikipedia article about "Volkswagen Beetle")

But nobody says "Hitler's people car".

    Regards,
    Remi
