Default My usual steps in drawing cartoons - (YouTube video)

Don't know how useful this may be, but I tried my hand at making a clip and I posted it on YouTube. It's the usual steps I take when drawing cartoons in Xtreme. How I draw a sketch first, add the lines, colour, then shading and highlights.

I tried to keep it under 10 minutes and I did just that - 9:42. It's not a finished drawing in the end with all the necessary shading and highlights, but you get the basic idea.

    Here's the link. Cartoons inXara

I can always try later and make others, but this was my first - a test really.

    No problems viewing it here.

That video is awesome! I can't believe how fast you work...like a machine =)
You should make more of these videos. I found it very educational

If you need more than 10 minutes BTW, you could use dailymotion instead of youtube. Another way is becoming a Director at youtube, but I checked it and they ask for some personal info in the application form :\

Some stuff I did have done ahead of time, just to speed up the video - but I'm glad that there's some educational value to it.

    Educational and well done!

Now I need the artistic talent gene. My mother has it, evidently it skips a generation.

I totally agree with "The Alien". It was a very informative and entertaining presentation. Is there a way I can download that from youtube so that I can watch it while I try some of the techniques? Thanks again for the insight.

    Bob,
Fantasic video. Thanks so much for sharing your technique and skill with all of us. It was very informative. I felt like I was standing over your shoulder watching you work.

Very informative video, Bob. Reading about how you work conveys an idea of how you do things. Actually seeing it imprints directly to the learning centers of the brain, by passing the analysis and misconceptions of the logic centers.
