    Default Making a start

Having decided to concentrate on portraiture and figure work this coming year and not being one to sit around doing nothing this wannabe artist has made a start.

Something easy to begin with, so chose some beauty queen with no character. Well, no lines on her face which suggests she may not have developed any character.

So the result is a cross between a cartoon character and a doll.

Not a good result though the eyes ain't so bad.

Back to eighteen-hours stints to learn this stuff - if it worked for cars an' bikes it can work for portraits as well, right?

    Right ...

Good start to portraits. Much better than my first attempt.

I admit to attempting a couple of portraits a few months ago so this isn't exactly my very first. First of a new and more serious start.

Thank you. Long way to go yet.
Valery has set the standard - that standard being my objective.
I look forward to what I might produce this time next year.

You draw so many varied things, cars, motorcycles, dented cars, well she definitely doesn't look dented. Nice work.
Every day's a new day, "draw" on what you've learned.

This one was not as easy as I thought it would be. Not happy with it - getting there slowly.

Raymond your second draw is great.

Although black, white and grey drawings of people may be easier that the colour drawings (the you did eariler), but personal i think the black, white and grey create a better looking effect.
