The 'flashes' of light worked better than I expected. They are just made with white circles with radial transparency. The time between frames is .1 second. The flashes involve no tweening between frames. In fact this animation uses no tweening at all. Itusesno named shapes.

can you provide us with the xara file too?

behzad - I edited your posting to remove the quotation you had of my original posting. Having it repeated, swf and all, served no useful purpose and maked the thread unnecessarily busy. In general I'd request we'd all avoid use the quote feature - except in those situations where not using it would be confusing.
With regards to the.xar --- I've attached it below.

Oh, Thank you. Great. Should I worry about the flash warning it gives me?
"The following can only be exported with SWF version 8:
Frame 0: Non round line caps and joins."
I'm not worried! I thumb my nose at such stink'n warnings.
Those Xara programmers probably get their jollies trying to scare users. (I've heard it can be rather boring writing code all day so I think it is understandable that coming up with ways to scare users could be a wee bit of fun to make their sweatshop existence at the mansion more bearable).

behzad,
Unlike Xtreme which has been able to handle 3 line cap/joins for many years, Flash could only support one line cap/join style until the latest release, Flash 8.
All this warning does is to tell you that the line join/end will be altered to Flash's default line style if your exporting in anything less than swf8.
