    Default Cannot Save Drop-Down Menu

Hello. I am using Webstyle 4, and have created and saved a drop-down menu on computer #1 for my web site. I copied what I thought were the correct files (both the web site and the xara files) to computer #2. When I open the web page on compter #2, then double-click on the menu, I get an older version of the drop-down menu that I created on computer #1. Even more, when I try to modify the older version on computer #2, I cannot save it. Every time I try to save it I get a message saying "webstyle is not able to write to the specified destination. Please check to make sure that the destination is writeable."

    1. Why can't I save my menu?
    2. Why am I seeing an older version when I thought I was copying the new version (what files should I be copying?)

    Thanks,

I guess i am out of practice reading html files but I think your problem is your src (source) for your images are pointing to your hard drive where the file was saved and when you transfer it to your other computer It cannot find the src. does this make sense to you?

Yes, it DOES make sense to me. I don't like what you're telling me because
I don't know how to "fix" the problem, or remedy my situation. You see, I travel a lot and transfer my files between my desktop and laptop routinely via the BRIEFCASE. If I cannot transfer the Xara files so that they make sense on both computers, then I cannot work on my web site while I'm travelling.

    Nuts, phooey...

    Thanks for your help

I would like to help further but do not really have the expertise in html, I can sort problems on my own site html but then I know where all my files get there reference from. You would have to copy all your images etc to your 2nd computer and change the html code to refer to them.

    Parahandy,

OK, I see the problem. I think I can resolve this problem by specifying where these files are stored. Currently, they are being stored in a temporary directory. I want to SPECIFY where these files are to be stored.

When I open up the current drop-down menu and try to save it, I do not see where it gives me any option on WHERE to save it. It simply saves it to a current directory.

How can I change where this is being saved?

Have you uploaded the files to your website?

    Huh?

I am developing the web site on one computer, then trying to copy the correct files to another computer. Unknown to me, when I saved the menu on the first computer it was saved in a temporary directory on that computer.

I was wondering whether I could specify the directory where the menu is saved.

Either you misunderstood my question or I am misunderstanding how this whole thing works.

    Thanks!

I must admit I am a bit puzzled. There is nothing to stop you copying those files to any folder you wish just as a means of having them to hand. Can you clarify as to whether you have a working website? or are you eventually going to upload them to make a website. Bear with my meanderings I have an 84 years old brain remember. In other words what are you going to do with these files eventually.
