I enjoy tinkering about with Xara X and creating text statements utilising the excellent fonts and colours.
However I haven't got a clue how to get those statements from Xara X to Frontpage and then on to my web site.
    I would appreciate some assistance http://www.talkgraphics.com/images/smilies/confused.gifwww.newkitchendesign.co.uk http://www.talkgraphics.com/images/smilies/confused.gifamotl@blueyonder.co.uk

    Hi John
Thank you for your reply. I haven't got a clue what wysigydg stands for. I am about to search for Microsoft Notepad

Persoanlly, i have not used frontpage more than 1/2 hour since they made it. Microsoft has a much better web page editing program. It is called notepad. With it you get supreme control, maximum creativity, fast loading web pages. <HR></BLOCKQUOTE> http://www.talkgraphics.com/images/smilies/redface.gif

I fear he's taking the piss, Dave. The wysigydg thingy is a turn on "what you see is what you get," or wysiwyg, and I suspect that the last three letters stand for is "you don't get".

Notepad is simply a text editor. John's saying that making your own html is the best way to go, rather than relying on a program like Frontpage, which actually does create a horrible mish-mash of html.

If you're going to be making web pages much, I do recommend that you learn to do your own html (and css!); it does make a difference.

    Cheers,

Thank you. I have often noticed the strange
    abbreviations on the forum.
I'm afraid that html is also on another planet for me.
THe simplicity of Webstyle 4 appeals to me as it works with Frontpage although perhaps Dreamwaver would be better as I see that there is an integration programme with Xara.
My original very poorly designed site needs upgrading and particularly the fonts hence my wish to utilise Xara X as I have some nice work stored once I learn a little more.

    Hi David

You may be happier with NetObjects Fusion. It's very much "what you see is what you get". Powerful, but easier and faster than FrontPage or Dreamweaver.

Also, you can take the buttons you create in WebStyle and plug them into NOF's stylesheet. Then NOF will create your navbars for you and maintain the links automatically.

www.netobjects.com - Look under Fusion7 for the trial version.

Like Xara, NetObjects has a friendly and supportive newsgroup community.

Don't take John seriously. He's still coding his HTML scripts by hand - Arrrrg! Spare me.

I agree with Allison's recommendation. I have been using NetObjects Fusion for about 8years, can't remember how long it has been. It is an excellent solution for website design.

The Xara Xone is published in NetObjects Fusion along with every other website I design.

Gary turned me on to NOF in the first place. And I've been very grateful for the recommendation. Thanks again, Gary http://www.talkgraphics.com/images/smilies/smile.gif http://www.talkgraphics.com/images/smilies/smile.gif http://www.talkgraphics.com/images/smilies/smile.gif
