Click on the paint brush icon, the options, as well, the brush panel, should appear... the help files within PI cover the basics... http://www.talkgraphics.com/images/smilies/smile.gif

Brushes are PI's weak point. The short answer is no, you can't make custom brushes like Photoshop. But if you must have them, you could try The Gimp.

Well, ok, beyond the basics, PI has always been lacking in the paint dept, despite continual requests by pretty much the whole PI user community... ugg, I hate to admit that, but it is just so true... version after version, and nada in this dept...
However, this all said, between warp brush, burn, and bristles, some cool colors, and an idea, one can produce a nice painting eh...
