Default Export to .gif very bad quality

    Hello.

I use macromedia flash to make all my animated stuff. I created a background for it in photoshop so all i needed to do was add the text in on top of that, so i imported the background image, did all the text etc etc and then exported as .gif but the quality is very poor but when i export as .swf it's fine, but i really could do with it in gif format. Any ideas?

    Thanks.

The GIF graphic format supports only 256 colours (see also Wikipedia article about GIF). I suppose, that could be the problem with bad quality you're talking about.

Use PNG or JPG graphic format instead.

I agree totally with Remi - give GIF and JPEG the elbow and move across to PNG, it's beats both hands down.

It's an animated image, and you can't do animations in png.

You're able to export each frame as a PNG graphic and import this into Flash.

If you use Xara Xtreme, there is an option available to export all the pictures in your animation in different PNG files with one click.

Try exporting at 96, this should be better. If not can you post your fla file here so we can give it a try.

Then I think the only way we can help further is if you post your fla file.
