    Default independent movement

Can someone please explain to me how to make 2 items act independent of each other on the "same line?"
For example...the image below has the face and the circle/feather act as if they are 2 different pieces.

OK...did everything you said...and they dont fit together all the way.
Does this only work with 2 lines? or can a guy have 3 lines and get the same effect by doing the same course of adjustments?

here is what I have so far...
The bottom line is supposed to fit into the top line. (there is one more line yet) When i extracted these in Xtreme, no adjustments to any attributes were made. Once I copied n pasted each line (individually) into 3D, they are now the same size....and won't completely align with each other.
Please help I would like to know what I'm doing wrong, or if i am trying something that 3D can't do.
    Attached are 2 files...one with only 2 lines...and one with 3 lines

    Thanks,
    Pipe

    Pipe,

Did you create these shapes in Xtreme? If so could you attach the xar file.

    EDIT: I recreated it myself.

Make sure you guys take note of what Egg did (great job, Egg) with the use of the extra lines to the left and right of each shape. This ensures that when these objects are brought from Xtreme into 3D that they will all be the right size and aligned properly. There are more threads discussing this, with some great info from simsmj.
