    Default independent movement

Can someone please explain to me how to make 2 items act independent of each other on the "same line?"
For example...the image below has the face and the circle/feather act as if they are 2 different pieces.

OK...did everything you said...and they dont fit together all the way.
Does this only work with 2 lines? or can a guy have 3 lines and get the same effect by doing the same course of adjustments?

here is what I have so far...
The bottom line is supposed to fit into the top line. (there is one more line yet) When i extracted these in Xtreme, no adjustments to any attributes were made. Once I copied n pasted each line (individually) into 3D, they are now the same size....and won't completely align with each other.
Please help I would like to know what I'm doing wrong, or if i am trying something that 3D can't do.
    Attached are 2 files...one with only 2 lines...and one with 3 lines

    Thanks,
    Pipe

Did you create these shapes in Xtreme? If so could you attach the xar file.

    EDIT: I recreated it myself.
