    Default .xar files

How do I create a .xar from a .jpg or .bmp?

Do I trace a .bmp? I can't find much info on this?

Search the help in the program for "tracer". Searching this forum with the same word probably will bring up results too.
I'd start a revolution, if I could get up in the morning.

Check out this tutorial, or this thread to learn about bitmap tracing.

If you open an image in Xara Xtreme you can save it as a .xar file if you want. Just do a 'save as' and choose .xar as the file type.

When saving as .xar; it becomes a vector image?

I want to make wireframe images out of some .jpg files I have.

    What is the best way?

That would be a time saver, but unfortunately there’s more to it than simply saving a bitmap as a xar file to produce a vector image.
As said before you can trace the image using the auto trace which will give you a very complex vector image comprised of, potentially, thousands of objects, depending on the image you are auto-tracing, or you can manually trace the bitmap by literally drawing around the parts you’re interested in. The detail you produce by this method depends on your patience and perseverance.
