Nortel Networks Kidz Online's Technology in Action (TIA) is having a 2d animation contest. The only rule is that all the submitted projects must be done in flash, other than that you can make any type of flash animation you like, as long as its G rated. For contest rules and a place to submit your work go to www.kidzonline.org/tia any other questions email arya@kidzonline.org The prize is a $2600 graphics computer donated by Tantus Computers www.tantuscomputers.com

Here are a couple of questions someone asked about the contest, and some follow up answers.

    1. Is there an age limit?
    2. Is there a size limit?
    3. When is the contest over?
    4. What should the video be about?
    5. Should it be interactive?
    6. What's the best theme?
    7. Can we do multiple submissions?
    8. Do you have AOL Instant Messenger so I can talk to you in real-time?

    Answers:

    1. No age limit, in fact we are trying to get a variety of skill levels and ages to enter
    2. We don't have a specific file size limit, but then again we wouldnt want a 100 meg file either.
    3. Currently there is no deadline for the contest, but it will most likely be sometime in the late fall early winter.
    4. The video, flash animation, can be about anything as long as it's done using Macromedia Flash. If you could make something that highlights one of our 2d Animation lessons the better.
    5. It can be interactive if you like.
    6. There is no best theme, this contest is all about people submitting new and creative animations or projects using Flash.
    7. Right now in the rules we state only one submission, but that's flexible.
    8. Email is the best way to get in touch with us.
