I need to export a tif in gray scale for a newspaper ad but I don't see that option in the export dialog box. Is it in the colour depth? Help please?
Thanks,

There is a Cybia BW Plus plugin that you might try. (freeware)
Rich
I converted it to gray scale in photopaint :-)
Thanks,

Technically you can reduce the color in the Color Editior > Enhance to -100 (0% saturation), which is in fact a grayscale image, but it still exports from Xara as an RGB image. So PSP or Photoshop is the way to go.
Here's a link to the Cybia BW Plus filter.

Here's the rub, Rich. I just downloaded the Cybia BW Plus and it is really terrific, especially the colored filters that you can apply to enhance the B&W image, for example, on a photo of a woman whose skin you want to appear very pale or white, you would use a red filter. Problem is, when you export a TIFF or JPEG and open the file in Photoshop, it still is a RGB file. So to make it a Grayscale image you still need to change the Mode to Grayscale.
But that is a terrific plug-in none the less. Thanks for the tip.
Catherina - If you will be working a lot with PDF files and need to create grayscale images for newspaper, you can use Acrobat 7 Pro and convert the PDF to Grayscale or CMYK color space.

Thanks Rich and Gary both for bringing that plugin to our attention. I got it and was just playing with it - very nice.
