slice tool in xara like in illustrator cs?

Hi!
I am new to this product and looked at the feature list,
I saw xara does a lot of stuff fast, but a tool I love in illustrator cs
is the slice tool where you can slice through bezier curves through a
shape like a circle and keep slicing, illustrator will create new bezier
curves through that shape, and you can adjust how many nodes
(complexity smoothness) you want on those bezier curves,
can we slice through shapes in xara?

Hi Mark, in a word, yes.

To slice a shape
1. Select the objects
2. On the Arrange menu, choose Combine Shapes then Slice Shapes (or press CTRL+4).
You can use with all object types including bitmaps.
If you use a line as the top object you can easily cut objects into pieces.
If you need to slice a line, it is easier to add a point to the line and use the Break button on the shape editor info bar.
If a line is used to cut an object, the end points of the line must both lie outside the object.

Can you post a screen shot to describe what you are asking?

Intbel is correct that you can use any object or path to slice an object, but I suspect what you are asking is a bit more complex. His suggestion is similar to Illustrator's Divide Pathfinder command.

that egg shape is exactly what I was talking about,
being able to cut through a vector shape from one side to the other
and have a two seperate vector shapes created.
That new curvy line would have nodes along it at the curves summits,
depending on how fast you had drawn the line. But that fact that it
can do it is good enough for me.

I drew the line with the Freehand and Brush Tool in one stroke. You can adjust the smoothness slider when using the Freehand and Brush Tool so that the line drawn is very accurate (low setting) or very smoothed and simplfied (highter settings).
